1 shot, killed at SW Houston apartment complex parking lot

HOUSTON – Murder charges have been filed after a man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in southwest Houston on June 23, according to authorities.

Investigators said Juan Contreras shot Miguel A. Marquez around 1:50 p.m. in a parking lot at 7900 Creekbend Drive.

Marquez, 38, was found sitting inside a vehicle with apparent gunshot wounds to his chest, according to police.

Marquez and Contreras got in an argument that led to the shooting, according to investigators.

Contreras was identified and charged. A weapon was recovered as evidence, police said.
