1 of 4 chase suspects arrested

Police are searching for the remaining 3 suspects

HOUSTON – Police have arrested one of the men they said led officers on a chase and then fired gunshots in a southwest Houston neighborhood.

Around 4 a.m. Wednesday, a police officer spotted a white pickup truck speeding down residential streets.  The officer attempted to pull the truck over, but the driver took off.

According to reports, officers eventually stopped the truck, and four men jumped out and ran away.  About five minutes later, one of the officers reported hearing gunshots in the distance.

Police said the suspects did not fire at officers.

HPD set up a perimeter and searched for the four men, but it was a neighbor two streets over who first spotted two of the suspects in his backyard. Police said he shot at the suspects, who then ran off.

Police managed to catch one of those two suspects and take him into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.

The name of the suspect was not immediately released.
