A driver died in a wreck in southwest Houston on Wednesday.
Houston police said the wreck happened in the northbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway between Bissonnet and Gessner about 6:45 a.m.
Detectives said the driver of a Chevrolet Aveo swerved to avoid hitting a metal swing set that was in the middle of his lane.
The driver lost control, crossed over several lanes and hit the back of a Nissan Murano, officials said.
The Murano flipped over several times, investigators said. The 31-year-old driver was killed at the scene, officials said. His name has not been released.
Police said the driver of the Aveo stopped and there was no indication that alcohol was a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed.
All northbound lanes were shut down while police conducted an investigation and crews cleared the wreckage.
