1 killed in trailer fire

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -

A woman died Tuesday evening in a trailer fire, according to the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office.

Firefighters said it happened at 14022 Walters Road, south of FM 1960 in northwest Harris County after 7:15 p.m.

The fire started in the back of the trailer.

Neighbors saw the fire, called 911 and tried to put the fire out themselves.

"I saw a water hose there so I was like, man, I was going to try and help out," witness Christian Portillo said. "I got a water hose and did my best to try and help out."

The fire and smoke were too much for neighbors to get inside the home.

Firefighters found the body of a 49 or 50-year-old woman inside the home but were not able to identify her immediately.

Fire investigators were trying to find out what started the fire.

Klein Firefighters also helped extinguish the blaze.

No other injuries were reported.
