1 killed, 1 injured in shooting

A shooting near a northwest Houston restaurant left one person dead and another in critical condition.

The shooting happened at Taco Cabana on Clay Road near the Beltway 8 about 8 p.m. Monday.

Police said an argument, possibly over drugs, sparked the shooting. More than a dozen shots were fired into a car at the scene.

The driver of one of the cars was hit, and that person drove about a quarter-mile before crashing. The driver died on scene.

The passenger was taken to Ben Taub in critical condition.
