Police searching for multiple suspects

HOUSTON – A suspected shooter is on the run after one man was killed and another injured in southwest Houston on May 21, according to police. The family of the slain man is asking for the public's help finding the people responsible.

According to investigators, in the 8700 block of Gustine Lane around 2:30 a.m., officers found an 18-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle. He died at the scene, police said.

Police believe Ivan Gutierez was involved in an accident with a 2010 white Toyota Tundra at South Gessner and South Braesweood earlier in the evening.

Gutierez was then followed back to his apartment complex and confronted with a machete in the parking lot, according to police.

He was able to get away, but was later confronted by the same man and at least two other man with wavy hair, police said.

Gutierez was sitting in his car when one of the men began shooting his vehicle, according to reports.

According to the Houston Police Department, witness saw several Hispanic men between 30 to 45 years old leave the scene.
