HOUSTON – A hit-and-run crash in northeast Houston sent one man to the hospital.

Houston police said a red pickup truck was traveling westbound on Collingsworth when it T-boned a sedan traveling southbound on Hardy at 11 p.m. Sunday. Investigators said one of the vehicles ran a red light.

After the crash, police said the driver of the red truck jumped out of the vehicle and took off running.

When Houston firefighters showed up at the scene, they had to use heavy machinery to cut out the man in the sedan, who was trapped inside.

He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in stable condition.
