1 dies, 3 injured in northwest Harris County wreck

Deputies believe alcohol played a role

HOUSTON -  A man was killed, three others were injured after a crash in northwest Harris County.

Three young men were in a Chevrolet Cavalier trying to cut across West Mount Houston Road near Bunny Run Dr. just after 10 p.m. Thursday, according to sheriff investigators.

At the same time, deputies said a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on West Mount Houston Road at a high rate of speed and smashed into the side of the Cavalier.

A passenger in the Cavalier was taken to a nearby hospital, but died from the injuries he suffered in the crash.

Investigators believe alcohol played a role in the deadly wreck.

They are investigating if both drivers were intoxicated.
