HOUSTON -

One person is facing charges and three others are on the run after a police chase through east Houston.

It started around 12:30 a.m. Thursday when an Houston police officer tried to pull over a driver on Corpus Christi near Uvalde for a broken brake light and expired temporary tags.

Instead of stopping, police said the driver took off and led them on a 10-minute chase in and out of residential areas.

Officials said the chase ended when the car stopped in some woods near North Park and Hollow Pines.

Police said all four suspects in the car took off running.

Officers were able to catch one of those suspects. K9 and helicopter units arrived at the scene and searched for the remaining suspects, but could not find them.

According to reports, the four suspects had bought a small amount of drugs and that is why they fled from police.

Officers said they found a small amount of marijuana on the suspect who was taken into custody. He now faces felony evading and drug charges.
