A deputy later stopped a vehicle at the intersection of White Fry and Westheimer Lakes. That deputy searched the car and found a golf bag that contained business cards belonging to a Katy-area resident. Deputies said they got in touch with that resident, who told them that the golf clubs belonged to him.

The driver of the car, 19-year-old Austin Thompson, was arrested and charged with theft, burglary of a motor vehicle, possessing a false driver's license, use of an unlawful instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail and had a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.
