CYPRESS, Texas - Four years ago, one wounded Texas war veteran survived an attack in Afghanistan that could have taken his life.
On Wednesday, he was honored in Town Lake and received a new home.
It's the fourth anniversary of Marine Corporal Raul Olivares' "Alive Day."
In honor of the anniversary, former Houston Astros pitcher Roger Clemens, Helping a Hero, Town Lake and Chesmar Homes gave a new home to Olivares and his family.
"It's these organizations full of great people that go the extra mile," said Olivares. "They make it happen, it's a dream come true."
Town Lake is also accepting donations at the welcome center for the Olivares family to buy furnishings to complete their new home
