'Password' tops list of most common passwords
'123456' second most popular, followed by '12345678'
And people wonder why identity theft is such a problem.
"Password" has topped the list of 25 most common passwords for the second year in a row, according to password management company SplashData.
"123456" was the second most popular password in 2012, followed by "12345678" -- both unchanged from last year.
According to The Daily Mail, new entries to this year's list included "Jesus," "ninja," "mustang" and "password1."
SplashData warned that users of the 25 passwords on the list were "most likely to be victims" of future identity theft, and recommended using a password manager application to organize and protect multiple different passwords.
