HOUSTON -- Would you like to have lunch with Houston's mayor? How about some face time with other city leaders, such as Houston's police chief? It's all up for grabs in a city of Houston online auction.
"I had lunch last year and I'm looking forward to it this year," Mayor Bill White said.
There are more than 180 items for sale, including golf excursions, a football autographed by Texans quarterback David Carr, an evening at the Houston Ballet, a ride in the HPD helicopter and a meal prepared by some of Houston's best chefs.
"Firefighters are cooking it. It's very original. You've got hot men cooking for you -- great for a bachelorette party, I think," said Maria Irshad, the auction organizer.
Every dollar collected goes straight to local charities.
The auction ends Friday at 2 p.m.
