Berkshire Passes For Sale On eBay

Passes To Annual Shareholder Meeting Selling Online

Maybe you know the fun of a Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting.

Every year, thousands of shareholders flock to Omaha, Neb., to take part in a weekend of shopping and hobnobbing with one of the world's richest men, Warren Buffet.

Don't own a share? Some people have found a way into the meetings for less than last Thursday's closing price of $93,002 per share. They are going online.

Tickets to the annual Berkshire Hathaway meeting are being sold on eBay. For as little as $5.99, shareholders are selling their passes to the big event.

Verlene Slama is a stockholder. She has been for 15 years, and every year she has a list of people who want to go with her.

"My children love going. I include them (and) they like to invite their friends," Slama said.

Getting to meet Warren Buffett isn't the only benefit of having a ticket. There are also discounts at stores owned by Berkshire Hathaway, like Borsheims Jewelry and Nebraska Furniture Mart.

The meeting is May 1 at the Qwest Center Omaha.
