Pantyhose Pros Test Spray-On Stockings
Spray-On Pantyhose Costs $28 Per Can
To find out if it worked, the product was tested on pantyhose pros -- waitresses at Hooters. Pantyhose are part of the Hooters' uniform."It's in the contract. You got to have the hose," said Nicole Dalvalle, a Hooters' waitress. "I'm not so sure if the spray-on pantyhose is going to be a good idea."The testers followed the directions. They shook the can for about 10 seconds, then sprayed on the product and rubbed it in.Immediately, the girls were impressed."I like it. It's really light and it hides scars, scarring and spider veins," Dalvalle said."I like it. It would be good for a night out when you don't want to wear pantyhose and just want to make your legs look smoother and nice," said Dana D'Oench, a Hooters' employee.Air Stocking is like makeup for legs, but it is resistant to water and sweat. It also will not wipe off with a swipe of your hand. It washes off with soap and water."You just wash your hands. The little bit that's on there comes right off," said Stacey Bird, a Hooters' waitress.Air Stocking costs approximately $28 a can. The manufacturer said there are about 20 to 25 applications in each can, which is approximately a $1.10 to $1.50 cost for each application.Since pantyhose runs from $3 to $10 a pair, some women thought the Air Stocking was an inexpensive alternative."I think it's great. I would definitely, definitely buy it," Bird said.Dalvalle was skeptical about Air Stocking since she had tried another spray-on hose product she purchased at a drug store."It was just very cakey. It kind of left orange streaks and it didn't wash off my hands as well as the Air Stocking did," she said. But the verdict was unanimous for Air Stocking -- they believe the product has a leg up on the competition.Air Stockings will be available at Nordstrom's later this month.Copyright 2004 by Click2Houston.com.
