Miami, FL -- (Sports Network) - David Wright drove in the go-ahead run in the 11th inning and the New York Mets defeated the Florida Marlins, 7-6, at Dolphin Stadium.Carlos Delgado hit a three-run homer and Paul Lo Duca added a two-run blast for the Mets, who increased their lead in the NL East to 2 1/2 games over the Phillies. Philadelphia lost to the Washington Nationals, 5-3, on Sunday. Wright finished 2-for-5 and scored a run for New York, which won the final three games of this four-game set to end a seven game road trip 4-3. Moises Alou went 2-for-6 with an RBI to extend his hitting streak to a franchise-best 27 games, as New York now heads home to Shea Stadium for its final eight games of the regular season. "I feel like every day I'm going to have a good game," said Alou. "It's been like that for the past month and I feel very thankful and grateful to feel that way. Unfortunately, last week, we didn't win as many games and I was hitting the ball good. You don't get the same satisfaction, but to get the win and to hit good, that's a good feeling." Dan Uggla had three hits, including a game-tying homer in the ninth, and Jeremy Hermida went 3-for-6 with two RBI for the Marlins, who have dropped seven of eight. With Harvey Garcia (0-1) starting the inning on the hill for the Marlins, Jose Reyes began things with a walk. Reyes moved to second on a base hit by Luis Castillo and scored on Wright's base hit. Joe Smith (3-1) got the win, tossing a perfect inning of relief, while Aaron Sele recorded the first two outs on the 11th and Scott Schoeneweis, the ninth pitcher of the day for New York, got the final out for his second save of the season. Florida got on the board in the third when Hermida singled home a pair of runners, but Lo Duca answered in the fourth with a two-run homer to tie the game. The blast came off Florida starting pitcher Chris Seddon, who didn't factor into the decision. He was charged with two runs on three hits, striking out two and walking two, over five innings. The Marlins went ahead in the sixth. Hermida started the inning with a single off New York starter John Maine. Miguel Cabrera then walked to force Maine from the contest in favor of Pedro Feliciano. Feliciano struck out Mike Jacobs, but then yielded an RBI single to Todd Linden to put Florida in the lead. Jorge Sosa came on for Feliciano and got out of the inning without any further damage being done and the Mets offense took advantage two innings later. In the eighth, Florida reliever Justin Miller walked Wright to start the inning and Wright moved to third on Marlon Anderson's pinch-hit single. Alou followed with a single that plated Wright and extended his hitting streak to a major league best this season. Delgado then crushed an offering from Miller into the seats in right for a 6-3 cushion. "I got a good pitch to hit," said Delgado. "I was able to drive it. I hit it pretty good but it went straight up in the air and I didn't know how the wind was playing it, but I hit it good enough." The New York bullpen, though, continued its struggles. With Aaron Heilman on the hill in the eighth, Todd Linden doubled home a run and pinch-hitter Jason Wood drove in another with a base hit to draw the Marlins within 6-5. Then, in the ninth, Uggla led off the inning with a homer off Mets closer Billy Wagner, who was appearing in his first game since Wednesday as he's missed the last three games with back spasms. Game Notes Lo Duca has nine HRs this season...Delgado has 24 HRs...Uggla hit his 31st HR of the year...Wright held the Mets' prior best hitting streak at 26 games, tied with Cleveland's Casey Blake for the previous best hitting streak in the majors this season...The Mets are expected to let Philip Humber start Wednesday against the Washington Nationals.
