Refreshed GMC Acadia drives into Chicago
GMC showed off its new 2013 Acadia SUV at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.
The refreshed car takes several design cues from its popular smaller sibling, the GMC Terrain. While most of the SUV carries over from the 2012 model, GMC updated the headlights, taillights and bumpers.
Engineers also made a few tweaks to the transmission in an effort to make the car even easier to drive.
One of the major new features of the new Acadia is the new center-mounted airbag. The airbag is placed between the driver and front passenger, and offers even more protection in the event of a side-impact crash.
Along with the new Acadia, there's also an updated version of the luxury-oriented GMC Acadia Denali. The Denali version gets a slightly different grille and the creature comforts you would expect from a luxury SUV.
Both versions of the new Acadia will go on sale at the end of 2012.
