Flying U.S. flag comes with specific rules
Displaying the American flag can be a sign of respect for the United States. However, just make sure you follow proper etiquette as it pertains to the U.S. flag.
If you are displaying the flag outside your home, you need to make sure you follow proper flying guidelines and raise and lower the flag correctly.
You need to make sure that the flag does not touch anything beneath it, including the ground or the floor, or even merchandise.
The flag should also never be displayed with the union down, unless you are signaling distress.
The U.S. flag should also never be dipped to any one person or thing. Instead, the state flag, regimental colors or other organizational flags are dipped to signal honor.
