Keith Garvin joined KPRC 2 News as an anchor/reporter in August 2012.
Keith is a Texas native. He grew up in Bryan-College Station and is a proud graduate of Bryan High School. He played his final high school football game at Kyle Field on the Texas A&M University campus. He got a football scholarship at the University of Nevada at Reno and earned a broadcast journalism degree from the university's Don Reynolds School of Journalism.
Before joining KPRC 2, Keith was an anchor/reporter at KTVT in Dallas-Fort Worth. He spent time as a correspondent for ABC News. He also worked at WRC-TV in Washington D.C., WTVD in Raleigh, N.C., and KFSN in Fresno, Calif. He has also worked behind the camera. He produced newscasts in Reno and Raleigh for six years.
Keith's favorite part of his job is being able to meet people and tell their stories. He is proudest of telling the stories of United States military members directly from Iraq and Afghanistan.
When Keith isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters. Their oldest is a student and acro-tumbling athlete at Baylor University.
He also enjoys running, reading and dining at Mexican and Thai restaurants.
Keith is happy to be close to home. If you've got a story idea for him, send him an email at email@example.com. You can also "like" him on Facebook and follow him on Twitter.
