Gary Striewski
Gary Striewski joined the KPRC news team in May 2012.
He makes his move to the 4th largest city in the states from Cheyenne, Wyoming where he served as the Sports Director at the CBS affiliate. During his time in the Cowboy State he covered the world's largest outdoor rodeo during Cheyenne Frontier Days and earned his most coveted paperweight when he took home 2nd place as the state's best sportscaster for 2011 (he insists he was being nice and let the other guy win).
Striewski graduated from Metro State College of Denver in 2010 with a degree in Speech Communication. A little-known fact, Gary was born on a military base in Seoul, South Korea, where most of his family, including his annoyingly awesome only sister lives. Despite being born in Korea, he grew up in Denver, Colo"RAD"o so adjusting to the Houston humidity he admits will be an adventure.
"If you see me out around town, help me out with a towel and some water," he jokes.
When he's not at work, Gary likes to put his nutrition minor to use by working out or eating anything semi-healthy.
"My definition of semi-healthy depends on how hungry I am at the time."
Striewski is beyond excited to be in Houston where there is literally never a dull moment. He'd love it if you dropped him a line with a news tip or just to say hi! Email him at gstriewski@kprc.com, follow him on Twitter and "like" him on Facebook.
