A Houston dermatologist and pharmacist has a new product that he says can get rid of razor irritation for good. After three years of research, he developed a new skin care line. It's targeted toward men like Sean Randall, who is one of thousands of African-Americans who suffer from pseudofolliculitis barbae, which is also known as razor bumps."In the morning, you know, you dread shaving simply because it was a little bit painful," he said. "Even if I shaved and I got a good shave, the solution or the lotions that are supposed to soothe irritated the skin and caused redness."Randall tried many products, but nothing seemed to help until he tried a new skin care line.Dr. Milton Moore suffered from the same condition."I decided to do something about it. I got tired of bleeding every time I would shave," Moore said. After testing different compounds, he came up with his "Moore Unique" skin approach."It's a clear solution that's odorless and colorless and as soon as it's sprayed on the skin, it instantly penetrates into the hair, so it softens the hair," Moore said. That makes it easier to cut, according to Moore.Next, a warm towel is applied to the face for 30 seconds, which helps pull the hair to the surface for the shave."The redness was gone. The chafing was gone. The hairs didn't look like they are darkening and going back to the skin," Randall said. After the shave, a razor rash cream is applied."It helps to soften the hair so the hair is not so coarse as it grows," Randall said.He said it's made a big difference in his life."My wife likes it because before I would have lots of stubble, razor bumps and I don't scrape her in the face when I'm kissing her," Randall said.African-American men are not the only ones who suffer from the skin condition.A small percentage of Caucasian men experience it, as well as women when they shave under their arms and bikini line. For more about the Moore Unique Skin Care line and how to purchase it, visit www.mooreunique.com.
