Meet Local 'Dr. Phil Empowerment Team'

Watch Group's Progress Mondays On First At Four

Six Houstonians have become News2Houston's local "Dr. Phil Weight-Loss Group."

News2Houston is tracking their progress every Monday on News2Houston First At Four, following Dr. Phil on Channel 2 at 3 p.m.

To help them in their journey to lose weight, the Houston group meets weekly with the following professionals, known as the "Dr. Phil Empowerment Team."

All of these experts offer their services for a fee. Here's how to contact them.

  • Personal Trainer: Rendell Lucelle

Rendell is originally from the Virgin Islands and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Sports medicine.

He worked at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) for three years doing physical therapy and rehabilitation. He then went on to work for the strength-conditioning unit of the University of Houston Football Team. He also was a physical education teacher at a Baytown-area school.

But it was Rendell's own battle with weight that led him to become a personal trainer for 24-Hour Fitness. When Rendell was 21 years old, he lost approximately 100 pounds and changed his life forever.

He now helps others battle the bulge at the 24-Hour Fitness located at Post Oak Boulevard and Westheimer Road. He is considered one of the top trainers within the company.

Rendell offers free consultations and can be reached at 24-Hour Fitness at (713) 840-1436.

  • Organizational Coach: Leisa Holland Nelson

Leisa specializes in helping people get what they want. Whether it's a new career, a new car or a new body, Leisa can help you organize your life and focus on what's important to you. You may have seen her on Channel 2 as "The 30 Second Coach." Every other week, she gave advice on how spending just 30 seconds a day focusing on a goal can you help achieve it.

Her lifelong interest in health and fitness issues and her training in leadership development, at all levels, have led her to create the Center For Self, her personal coaching practice which focuses on issues of transition in and around the workplace.

Leisa's past work experience includes executive merchandising and marketing positions with Neiman Marcus and Federated Department Stores and in the fashion industry with Leslie Fay and Evan-Picone.

In 1996, Leisa formed the Apparel Resource Group, Inc., a consumer-products-focused consulting company specializing in brand positioning, organizational development and technology management.
