HISD To Issue H1N1 Vaccines
Schools To Be Used As Vaccination Sites

HOUSTON -- The H1N1 vaccine is coming to the
Houston School District, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.
The HISD Board of Education unanimously approved a plan to use six schools to administer free H1N1 vaccinations.
Approximately 10,000 vaccines will be given Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the following locations.
Wheatley High School, 4801 Providence Yates High School, 3703 Sampson Westside High School, 14201 Briar Forest Milby High School, 1601 Broadway Woodson Middle School, 10720 Southview Jane Long Middle School, 6501 Bellaire
District officials said since supplies are limited, the vaccinations will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. The primary focus will be to vaccinate school-age children, as well as others in the following high-risk groups.
Pregnant women People with children younger than 6 months of age Health care and emergency medical services personnel People between 6 months and 24 years old People between 25 and 64 who are at high risk because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.
The Houston Health Department is also offering free vaccines on a first-come, first-serve basis at the following seven sites on Mondays from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
