Meet Tammie Kahn, Executive Director of the Children's Museum of Houston
Tammie Kahn has been the Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of Houston since 1995, where she is responsible for the Museum’s direction, management, long term planning and expansion which has doubled the learning space of the Museum and created an Institute for Family Learning that focuses on improving a child’s math, science and literacy skills.
She is past president of the Houston Museum District Association, and has served on the boards of the Association of Children’s Museums, the Greater Houston Collaborative for Children, the South Main Center Association, El Centro de Corazon, Talento Bilingue de Houston, the Houston Holocaust Museum and the Advisory Boards of the Greater Houston Collaborative for Children, Friends of Hermann Park and the Zoological Society of Houston.
She holds a BS from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Houston. Prior to her role at the Children’s Museum, she was Associate Director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.
