HOUSTON – Food truck owners are battling City Hall to serve in downtown Houston, but the push for change is encountering some resistance.

According to some downtown restaurant owners, a food truck invasion would create too much competition and hurt their bottom line.

Food trucks are currently forbidden from operating with propane downtown unless they hire an off-duty firefighter.

They're also not allowed to provide seating and they must also be parked at least 60 feet from one another.

Food truck vendors are pushing for those rules to change so they'll be able to offer their services downtown.
