A Detroit movie theater has a program that parents won't want to miss, television station WDIV reported.
It's a movie matinee just for babies and any parent who has been shushed by moviegoers.
"It's convenient. It's during the day. I can bring the baby and, if she cries, it's not a big deal," said Vilma Dennis of Royal Oak, Mich., who was holding baby, Ada, in her arms.
At Reel Moms, no one cares about noise.
"It's not a big deal because the other babies are crying, not just him," said Ray Baldwin of Berkley, Mich., who had baby Reagan Michael with him.
The movies aren't kid's shows. The Star Southfield theater showed moviegoers "Miss Congeniality 2" this week. "Guess Who" with Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher is next week.
Some movie houses in other cities offer similar programs.
"It's usually a movie that just came out that weekend that moms and dads want to come out and see," said Louis Castro, manager of the Star Southfield.
Adults pay regular matinee prices, $5, but no matter how many kids are in tow, the babies get in for free.
"Bring as many babies as you want," said Castro.
In the future, guest speakers may discuss parenting issues, such as "Help! My Babies Not Eating," "Getting My Body Back After Pregnancy," and "Stress Management." The talks will be sponsored by Detroit Parent Network.
