Local singer becomes hit on 'The Voice'

Watch party held for Danielle Bradbery in Cypress

CYPRESS, Texas – At a watch party for NBC's "The Voice" in Cypress on Monday night, there was no doubt as to who was the big star of the show.

Dozens of family and friends turned out to cheer for Danielle Bradbery, who made her debut on the hit reality program.

"Of course every little girl always has a dream to be famous or something. But, I mean, I always wished to become a singer and it's amazing how it's coming true," said Bradbery.

The 16-year old's voice wowed the celebrity judges almost immediately.

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Usher all turned around, vying for the chance to coach the young talent and win the contest. Shakira said she regretted not doing so.

Danielle's biggest fans are her proud mother and a host of family and friends who say she's been singing since she realized she even had a voice.

"She's never had lessons…This is just overwhelming that she has made it to this point," said Gloria Martinez, the singer's mother.

In the end, Bradbery picked Blake Shelton as her coach, signaling she's ready for music stardom on the country music scene.

"I hope, of course, I win the whole thing. That's why I did it for," said Bradbery. "Whatever happens, I'll be grateful for everything."
