LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – If you're looking to visit Elsa and Anna from "Frozen," it may be quicker to fly to Norway than wait in line for the duo's new ride at Walt Disney World.

Frozen Ever After opened for visitors at Epcot's Norway pavilion on Tuesday afternoon, and almost immediately, wait times reached five hours.

At one point, the line could be seen stretching around parts of the World Showcase Lagoon at the theme park.

Disney employees offered water and ice cream to those waiting in the lines underneath the hot Florida sun.

Frozen Ever After replaces the popular Maelstrom ride that took visitors on a brief tour of Norway.

The renovation and inclusion of the Frozen characters displeased longtime fans of the original ride that opened in 1988.

One fan was seen walking around the park holding a "RIP Maelstrom" sign.

Maelstrom was shut down in 2014 to make way for the princesses of Disney's wildly popular animated film.

The new ride takes visitors through scenes of the movie, bringing fans to the fictional town of Arrendale as residents get set to celebrate the annual Winter Festival.
