A Tribe Called Quest to release final album

HOUSTON – Get ready, A Tribe Called Quest fans, because the group has some great news.

Q-Tip, one of the members of A Tribe Called Quest, announced that the group will be releasing a final album this fall.

Q-Tip revealed the news on social media and why the group decided to get back into the studio.

"Last year this time, myself, Jarobi, Ali and Phife had the extreme pleasure of performing on 'The Tonight Show.' It was our 1st TV performance in 18 years," Q-Tip wrote. "The energy for us that night was one that we hadn't experienced on stage together in some time. It was also the night of the Paris bombing...As we left 30 Rock, I felt the need, we all did, to get back to the studio and start that cookup. Se we got to it."

A few months after they performed on the show, Malik Taylor, aka Phife Dawg, died.

"He left us with the blueprint of what we had to do," Q-Tip wrote.

The remaining members of the group collaborated with Busta Rhymes and Consequence on what Q-Tip said will be the group's final album.

A Tribe Called Quest's last album was "The Love Movement" in 1998.
