Thousands came from far and wide hoping to be the next big singing sensation. Auditions for the second season of NBC's "The Voice" were held in Houston Wednesday.
Casting producers said 6,000 people had registered to audition as of Tuesday. People started lining up at Reliant Center before daybreak.
"I am ready to get in there and sing and perform and give them a little taste of me and I hope they like me," said Valencia.
Whitney is a country music singer who turned 18 years old last week. She wants to come out of the shadow from her eight older brothers.
"Everyone here has some aspiration to be a singer. Here's where we'll make that happen. I'm good. I'm ready. I'm kind of nervous, but I hope it works out well," she said.
John, originally from San Antonio, lives and works in Germany. He showed up before daybreak for his audition.
"As long as I can get through the door, that's the first step. I'm sure there's a long, large line and they won't be able to see everybody," John said.
To audition for the show, you must be a U.S. resident and be at least 16 years old.
