Sarah Jessica Parker stepped in at the last minute to play Gloria Steinem in "Lovelace," but her work didn't make it into the film.

According to Entertainment Weekly, directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman were originally planning to end their biopic of adult actress Linda Lovelace in 1984, which would've included scenes of Lovelace after she'd gone back to using her real name and had taken a stand against porn, becoming affiliated with Steinem.

Demi Moore was first cast as the feminist icon, but she dropped out of the role last year when she sought treatment for "exhaustion and [to] improve her overall health." SJP then quickly took on the role, a move the directors called "very gracious."

But after deciding it would be better to end the movie in 1980, Steinem's scenes were among those cut out of the film.

Amanda Seyfried, who stars as Linda Lovelace in the biopic, previously said that both actresses did a fine job.

Moore, she told CNN last February, "worked so hard and she was the perfect Gloria. Things just don't work out the way you want them to ... It sucked but Sarah Jessica Parker was so awesome. Oh my God, I couldn't believe it. I mean, I know she felt bad, she felt really bad, too. And she was really nervous. Gloria Steinem's an icon. [But] she filled her shoes really well."
