Brown on Bobbi Kristina: We'll pull through this
Daughter hospitalized after mother's death
Houston and Bobby Brown appear together onstage at a VH1 event in 2003.
Bobby Brown rushed to be at daughter Bobbi Kristina's side in the wake of his ex-wife Whitney Houston's death. He tells People magazine in a statement that Bobbi Kristina is dealing with the loss with the help of family.
Following Houston's death on Saturday, Bobbi Kristina, 18, was taken to Cedars Sinai Medical Center twice - once on Saturday night, and again on Sunday morning - to be treated for stress and anxiety, a family source said.
Singer Kim Burrell told CNN on Sunday afternoon that "as to be expected," the teen was "overwhelmed."
"It's her mother," Burrell said. "She knows how much her mother meant to the world. And Bobbi Kristina has a huge heart, just like her mother."
People reports that on Sunday, Bobby Brown pulled out of a concert performance in Nashville and instead boarded a flight to Los Angeles to be with his daughter.
Monday evening, the R&B singer said that Bobbi Kristina is with family, including her siblings.
"Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her," Bobby Brown said. "However, we will get through this tragedy as a family."
