She completed business school but by 2006 was participating in reality TV shows such as "Celebrity Fit Club" and "Fear Factor."
Now 38 years old, Bledsoe has been dating actor Darryl Bell (best known for his work on the "Cosby" spinoff "A Different World") for more than 16 years. The pair never married but recently participated in the reality series: "Househusbands of Hollywood."
Bledsoe's post-"Cosby" credits include guest appearances on "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air," "The Practice" and "South of Nowhere." In early 2011, she took over as host for the Style Network's "Clean House," replacing long-time host Niecy Nash.
Bledsoe has reportedly been struggling for decades with a skin condition called vitiligo, which chronically causes de-pigmentation of certain patches of skin.
Keshia Knight Pulliam (Rudy Huxtable)
Keshia Knight Pulliam was trying to shed her baby-girl image when she posed for a risqué magazine shoot in 2004. This was a far cry from portraying America's baby of the family: Rudy Huxtable.
The now 33-year-old actress has come under more recent scrutiny as well, for her decisions to portray a prostitute in Tyler Perry's "Madea Goes to Jail" and also to star in a Chingy video wearing just a bra.
She hasn't always been sporting the good-girl-goes-wild image though. She received a bachelor's degree in sociology and a few years later participated in and won some reality shows -- good clean fun for this former child star.
In 2008, she joined the cast of Tyler Perry's "House of Payne," which earned her the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series three years in a row between 2008 and 2010. She is still with the series and currently resides in Atlanta.
So if you ever wished you were part of the perfect American family such as the Huxtables, do not lose heart for no such ideal exists -- and the lives of the real Huxtable kids is proof of just that. With all their imperfections though, they will always be America's kids.
