Pitt: Arrival Of Baby With Jolie Is 'Imminent'
Actor Sends Message To Cannes

PARIS -- It looks like the blessed event for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is right around the corner.
In an e-mail to officials at the Cannes Film Festival in France, Pitt said that he would not be able to attend to introduce the Alejandro González Iñárritu film "Babel" because the "imminent arrival" of his and Jolie's baby.
Pitt stars in the drama along with Cate Blanchett and Gael Garcia Bernal.
"With the imminent arrival of the newest addition to our family, I am unable to join Alejandro, Cate, Gael and the rest of the cast and crew," Cannes news conference moderator Henri Behar read in the message from Pitt.
Pitt also said in the message that he is " tremendously proud" and wants to congratulate "everyone involved for this great achievement."
The baby will be the first for the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-stars.
Jolie has two adopted children -- Maddox and Zahara. The children have legally had their surname changed to Jolie-Pitt.
Pitt will also soon star in the Western drama "The Assasination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."
