After winning an Oscar for playing late music legend Ray Charles, actor-comedian Jamie Foxx has decided to put out another album of his own.

His first release, "Unpredictable," hits stores Tuesday.

Foxx's original dream was to have a recording career. Comedy and movies were detours.

Foxx, a classically-trained pianist, did his own playing for the Charles biopic "Ray," but Charles' original vocals were used in the film.

The performer got a lot of help for "Unpredictable." Kanye West, Twista, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, the Game, Busta Rhymes and Snoop Dogg are some of the stars who appear with Foxx on the album.

Foxx's next film is a big-screen version of the television hit "Miami Vice."

Foxx's first music release came in 1994 with "Peep This."
