HOUSTON -- Imagine going through a dream, but you're wide awake and instead of a dream, it's a glimpse into someone else's reality. For Myra Logan, it can be a daily experience, Local 2 reported Monday.
Just a trip to a local restaurant or a ride on an airplane can cause her to go through something that she describes as a "knowing."
"The lady across the aisle, I knew she had breast cancer," she said. "The stewardess started pushing her cart through the aisle and all of a sudden, it was like an interruption and I knew that she was worried about her teenage son."Sometimes it's images. But more often, it's voices from what she calls her guides or angels."They're absolutely incredible beings from the spiritual plane," Logan said. For decades, she suppressed her angels."It became burdensome because I would get information that was sad or information that was really scary and I couldn't tell anyone," Logan said.Recently, a severe illness forced her to start listening again. In the NBC television show "Medium," actress Patricia Arquette plays a psychic that helps police with unsolved crimes. It's something Logan has done as well.A few years ago, Logan's angels showed her the murder of a young girl. They even gave her street signs and landmarks."I saw a red brick building, a telephone pole and a long-stemmed red rose," she said.Logan contacted Houston police who asked her to take them to the location."At one point, I kept saying, 'Where are you?' and (my guide) kept saying, 'You're there. You're there,'" she said. The girl's body was never found, but they did find the rose painted on the side of a nearby floral shop.Logan believes the girl was murdered nearby, but that the killer later moved her body."A lot of the information I get is not always real clear. You have to kind of work with it," she said.Logan continues to work with her intuitive gift, but mostly for clients who want to change or improve their lives. But other local psychics also regularly assist police."This is done a lot more often than people know," Logan said. But does the show "Medium" accurately portray Logan and others with her unique gift?"On reason I like it is because they portray her as a real person. She's not perfect," Logan said. She would be the first to admit that no psychic is perfect with his or her predictions. But she's also quick to point out that she believes everyone has the ability to predict his or her future."It's intuition. You use intuition all day long," she said. "Most people are blocking it out because it's not what they want to hear. If you put the emotion aside and just take the information and allow it to come, it's the truth."
