Currently in a divorce battle with his estranged wife, Linda Hogan, Hulk Hogan says he understands the plight of O.J. Simpson, who was found liable in civil court for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.
TMZ.com obtained quotes from an upcoming Rolling Stone interview with Hogan, where the former pro wrestling star draws some Simpson parallels.
"You live half a mile from the 20,000-square foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater and see a 19-year-old boy driving your Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife . . . I totally understand OJ. I get it."
CNN.com also confirmed a quote from Hogan in the Rolling Stone interview, where he said, "I could have turned everything into a crime scene like O.J., cutting everybody's throat."
According to TMZ, Linda Hogan's attorney has issued a statement about the quotes, saying, "We have always maintained that the fear that Linda has had to live with comes from the rage and instability much too often associated with pro wrestlers … Linda and her family are taking these recent homicidal comments seriously."
Addressing the quotes, Hogan's attorney, David R. Huston, also issued a statement.
"Page 6 only quoted a very small portion of the Rolling Stone article, not the statement in its entirety," Huston said. "(Hulk Hogan)" said that he understands the frustration that can lead to that sort of activity but he definitely does not condone it. He is grounded in his faith and a belief in a higher power and does not believe in violence for any reason."
The "19-year-old boy" at center of the controversy is Charlie Hill, the man purportedly having the romantic relationship with the 47-year-old Linda Hogan.
Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, is 55. Hulk Hogan and Linda Hogan married in 1983 and have two children, Nick and Brooke.
