'Babe,' 'W.' Star Hurt In Bike Accident

Cromwell Suffered Broken Collarbone, Partially Deflated Lung

POSTED: Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Actor James Cromwell is recovering from injuries suffered in a fall from his bicycle over the weekend.

Cromwell's publicist, Nancy Seltzer, said the Oscar-nominated star of the "Babe" movies is a serious cyclist who was training on a Los Angeles-area canyon road Sunday when he fell from the bike and had to go to the hospital.

The actor suffered a broken collarbone and a partially deflated lung.

Seltzer said Cromwell will be well enough soon to be back on the set of "My Own Worst Enemy." He plays the boss of Christian Slater's secret-agent character.

Cromwell, 68, recently starred as President George H.W. Bush in "W.,' director Oliver Stone's biopic about President George W. Bush.

Cromwell's other film credits include "Spider-Man 3," "I, Robot," "The Green Mile," "Space Cowboys" and "Star Trek."

His television credits include "ER," "Six Feet Under" and "24" -- where he played Jack Bauer's estranged father.
