WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Some high-profile people were in West Palm Beach stumping for their presidential picks on Sunday.
Actor Matt Damon, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Cindy McCain campaigned in West Palm Beach.
Early voting wrapped up late Sunday afternoon at the Supervisor of Elections Office in West Palm Beach, but the offices of Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain were packed all day because both camps had supporters in town to rally the troops.
Damon, Giuliani and Cindy McCain spent the day thanking volunteers for their support.
Damon, who lives in Miami, said he's voting for Obama.
"Well, I live here in Florida and I vote here in Florida, and I've been convinced for some time that Barack Obama is the best choice for president this year," he said. "So I'm trying to help to get the vote out early."
Damon was a hit at the Obama campaign office in West Palm Beach. Not wanting to break with tradition that every volunteer takes a photo with the star of the campaign, he smiled and said cheese.
"It makes every hour that we spend here -- and we spend countless hours here -- worth it," a volunteer said. "They're one of us and we're one of them, and we're a team and we're going to bring it to the White House."
Cindy McCain and Giuliani paid a visit to a nearby neighborhood to make a special delivery. The former mayor showed his support for Republican McCain.
"We're here because we want to thank you," Giuliani told the volunteers. "We want to thank you for all the work you do on behalf of the Republican Party, and I know Cindy McCain is here to thank you specifically for helping John. We've got a great candidate don't we?"
Someone took a McCain-Palin sign from a yard a few days ago, and the mayor was there to replace it.
Cindy McCain, Giuliani and Damon agreed that Florida is a key battleground state and their candidates need to win there if they want to win the seat in the White House.
