4 Entertainers Announced For 2009 Rodeo

Rascal Flats, the Jonas Brothers, Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift will headline concerts at the 2009 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, which will be held March 3 through March 22 at Reliant Park.

The preliminary lineup was announced on Monday at 10 a.m.

"This is just the beginning of an exciting year of superstars at RodeoHouston," said Skip Wagner, president of the Show. "Amazing entertainers plus an action-packed Super Series rodeo equal an exciting, family-fun opportunity."

Along with the lineup, rodeo officials announced the beginning of season ticket sales, which are on sale now. Season tickets start at $312, including a $10 handling fee.

Officials said season tickets are the only guaranteed way right now to see the above performances, along with 16 more.

Mini-season tickets, with nine performances in each option, will go on sale Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Mini-season tickets can be purchased for $181 in the loge level, which includes a $10 handling fee. Mini-Season Ticket seating is in the loge and upper levels of Reliant Stadium.

Black Heritage Day, Friday, March 6, and Go Tejano Day, Sunday, March 15, will be sold as individual tickets and are not included in the mini-season ticket options. The full 2009 RodeoHouston line-up will be announced on Jan. 12. Individual tickets will go on sale on Jan. 17.

Season tickets and mini-season tickets can be purchased by calling the Rodeo's ticket office at 832-667-1080, or by visiting the Rodeo's ticket office on the second floor of Reliant Center.

The show's ticket office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Season tickets and mini-season tickets are not available at any other ticket outlet, including Ticketmaster.

Since its beginning in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has contributed more than $230 million to scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, the Rodeo Institute for Teacher Excellence, School Art participants, and other educational and youth programs.
