Officers in Los Angeles said "Indiana Jones" co-star Shia LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving following an early Sunday morning car accident in Hollywood.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff department said that LaBeouf was the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a 3 a.m. collision. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Wolf LaBeouf tried to make a left turn when the vehicles collided and LaBeouf's pickup rolled over, Wolf said.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation, and Wolf did not have additional details.
LeBeouf and his passenger were injured, as was the other driver. Wolf said that LaBeouf was being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for injuries to his head, left hand and knee.
A female passenger in LaBeouf's truck and the driver of the other vehicle were not seriously injured.
Wolf did not know the identities of LeBeouf's passenger or the other driver.
Wolf said that officers at the scene this morning reported it was clear to them that LaBeouf was intoxicated.
"It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated, and he was subsequently placed under arrest," Wolf said.
The officer said that it is unknown whether LaBeouf will face felony or misdemeanor charges.
In November, he was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing after an alleged drunken incident in a Chicago Walgreens. The charges were later dropped. LaBeouf later told talk show host David Letterman, "Drinking and driving is one thing, but drinking and shopping ... it's just as bad."
LaBeouf starred as Mutt Williams, the love child of Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) and Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), in the summer blockbuster "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."
He also starred in the 2007 summer blockbuster "Transformers" and hit suspense thriller "Disturbia."
His other credits include the family movie "Holes" and Disney Channel series "Even Stevens."
LaBeouf is next slated to appear in the action thriller "Eagle Eye" in September.
