Houston Rodeo Officials Unveil Headliners
Season Tickets On Sale
Among this year's headliners are George Strait, Tim McGraw, ZZ Top and Alabama.
With 68,266 fans at last year's rodeo appearance, Strait broke the paid attendance record for any event ever held in the Reliant Astrodome. He is one of only three entertainers to perform for more than 1 million people.
Embarking on its "The American Farewell Tour," Alabama is making its last-ever Houston performance during the rodeo. They have previously entertained crowds at the rodeo nine times.
The rodeo will make its Reliant Stadium premiere on Feb. 25 and run through March 16.
With 10,000 more seats in Reliant Stadium than in Reliant Astrodome, more Rodeo Houston season tickets than ever before are available, allowing the rodeo to sell season tickets through a general campaign for the first time in more than 30 years, organizers said.
"The action and excitement of 2003 Rodeo Houston will be unforgettable as we celebrate the debut of rodeo in Reliant Stadium," Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo President P. Michael Wells said. "By purchasing season tickets, fans can reserve their seats now for 20 incredible performances."
The price of a two-seat season box starts as low as $680 for the loge level and goes up to $3,000 for two action seats for 20 performances.
The new action seats are the closest seats to the thrills and spills of the rodeo, and the front row is only 87 feet from the rotating concert stage.
In addition to the rodeo and concert performances, season tickets include admission to the livestock show, carnival, shopping and food plazas, and additional educational and entertainment venues.
