NEW YORK -- A former psychiatric patient pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of stalking Uma Thurman.
Jack Jordan was arrested in October after allegedly trying to break into her trailer on a movie set in New York two years ago. He was arraigned on an attempted coercion charge in Manhattan's state Supreme Court.
The day after his arrest, Jordan's family had him involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital.
After his release, he sent numerous e-mails to Thurman and other members of her family during August and September of 2006.
A criminal complaint said that last August, he appeared three or four times a week at Thurman's home, asking to see her and being told to leave.
Authorities said Jordan also threatened to kill himself if he saw her with another man.
If he's convicted, Jordan could get up to four years in prison.
Thurman, 37, received a Best Actress nomination for the Quentin Tarantino film "Pulp Fiction."
She has also starred in Tarantino's "Kill Bill" movies, as well as "Dangerous Liaisons," "The Truth About Cats and Dogs" and "My Super Ex-Girlfriend."
