Katy ISD Investigates 3 Morton Ranch Coaches
Head Football Coach Scott Svendsen On Administrative Leave
The Katy Independent School District issued a statement Saturday regarding the district's internal investigation of three Morton Ranch coaches.
In the statement, Katy ISD administrators said they were made aware of allegations that three Morton Ranch High School coaches were violating district policies regarding student records, athletic eligibility and possible misuse of funds.
After the allegations surfaced, the district placed all three coaches on administrative leave and launched an investigation.
Katy ISD public information officer Steve Stanford confirmed with KPRC Local 2 on Saturday that one of the coaches placed on leave is head football coach Scott Svendsen.
According to officials, Katy ISD Assistant Athletic Director Todd McVey will serve as interim coach and campus athletic coordinator at Morton Ranch High School.
Students and parents were briefed on the situation Friday evening by senior district and campus representatives.
