"Houston is hot, so airy and flowy dresses or pants work well," designer Ebele Iloanya said.
Iloanya owns the MOD Chic Couture boutique in Rice Village. She started her custom clothing line back in 2009.
During the exclusive MOD Chic REVEALED event, guests were given an opportunity to shop and learn about IIoanya's latest designs.
The collection goes beyond shorts and offers an array of dresses, pants, tanks, belts and accessories for work and play. There's something for everyone because MOD Chic offers custom designs.
Iloanya said, “If you aren't ready to take the leap to bold colors or fabrics, liven up your outfit with a handbag.
Even if you are wearing dark colors, a colorful handbag can make it pop. Earrings are also a great investment when it comes to your summer wardrobe.”
Fashion insiders at the preview called the line fresh, modern and elegant.
“The pieces here are unique, so I know other people won’t be wearing what I’m wearing. This is my new
favorite place,” shopper Ciara Suesberry said.
"Perhaps one of the most intriguing elements is discovering that the majority of the absolutely gorgeous pieces in MOD Chic were designed by Ebele Iloanya,” Misha Granado said. “Her expression through her designs is stylish, classic and compliments women regardless of their dress size."
Now is the time to play up your personal style, whether you love bold colors or neutral tones.
