Amazon possibly planning drive-up grocery stores

There are new hints that Amazon is trying to get a bigger piece of the grocery market.

According to planning documents, the e-retailer is considering drive-up grocery hubs so customers can “click and collect.” Shoppers would choose what they want online and then drive to a physical location to pick it up.

Amazon is reportedly eyeing test locations in San Carlos and Sunnyvale, California, as well as Seattle. The system would eliminate the need for Amazon to deliver perishable items like fruits and vegetables.

Amazon has not yet commented on the rumor.
