'The Musicians' Wives' presents Cocktails and Conversation

Empowering Houston women

HOUSTON – The “Cocktails & Conversations” panel is packed with entertainment powerhouses, including Houston’s own Emmy Award-winning producer, Kim Gagne, who recently left the "Steve Harvey" show and is now the programming director at Amazing 102.5 FM.

Gagne said her mission is to let women know it’s OK to “hit the reset button” of life.

“This summer I just quit and didn’t come back. I stepped out on faith. I feel like I can get my feet wet again. I’m deciding what my next big thing is,” said Gagne.

Also on the panel is Towanda Braxton of WeTV’s "Braxton Family Values." After years of honing her acting skills, Braxton, the sister of R&B singer Toni Braxton, has recently experienced an uptick in her acting career, landing roles on a new soap opera and starring in a film with Carl Payne.

Braxton said “Cocktails & Conversations” is an excellent platform for women to support and uplift one another.

“I love being around wonderful women, and a cocktail,” said Braxton.

She, raised in a family of sisters, said she wants other women to do better at getting along with one another.

“We need to understand (as women that) sometimes we may not like one another, but we should respect and support one another. We can get along without scratching each other’s eyes out,” she said.

Braxton said she’s looking forward to having girl talk about men and relationships.

Brandi Jackson and Diane Tribit of The Musicians’ Wives said they were happy to partner with “Cocktails & Conversations” because the mission is in line with The Musicians’ Wives platform: dynamic women interacting with one another.

As wives of famous musicians, Jackson and Tribit said they know how important it is for women to create their own paths, as well as stick together.

“Even though our husbands are entertainers and we support them, we also want to show we are wives doing big things,” said Tribit.

“There is so much power in women sticking together,” said Jackson.
The evening’s toasts will feature The Musicians’ Wives signature peach Moscato, Keynote.

Also on the panel is Magic 102.1 radio personality Kandi Eastman.

The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. at Aloft Houston Galleria. For ticket information, visit  Event Bee.
