Surfing dog auditions being held in Houston

Auditions happening Sunday before Astros game

HOUSTON – Think your pup can hang ten? Then bring them out to Minute Maid Park this weekend.

The Lucy Pet Foundation rolled into Houston on Thursday with their doggie wave maker in tow. The group is looking for local canines who can ride the waves and represent them on their Rose Parade float early next year.

Auditions happen Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during Bark at the Park, before the Astros take on the Tampa Bay Rays.

The most tubular dogs could end up on the foundation's float in January.

In addition to sun and surf, the foundation is teaming up with the Brazoria County SPCA and Dow Chemical for a pet adoption event. The adopt-a-thon is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at MacLean Park in Lake Jackson.
