Caitlyn, who has shown livestock for three years, said the show preparation is a lot of work, and that she plans to relax and enjoy the victory with people who have helped her along the way.

“I worked so hard and it finally paid off,” Skiles said. “I am going to eat a really good meal and celebrate with my family.”

Karagen Dreibrodt's American red Brangus heifer won overall reserve supreme champion junior breeding beef heifer.

The 16-year-old Bulverde girl said she likes everything about showing livestock, especially spending time with family and friends. She said it's taught her many life lessons.

“It feels great to have my hard work pay off,” she said. “Showing has taught me how to work hard and also how to win as well as lose.”
