Eyes on Houston: Houstonians spread Christmas spirit

HOUSTON – Folks in Houston are spreading holiday cheer from the young to the old.

Eyes On Houston found some bright eyed children and some special gifts being given to the young at heart.

Children of all ages got to make ginger bread treats, snap photos with characters from the ballet’s Nutcracker, read stories with winter maidens and of course sit and visit with the sugar plum fairy and her court.

KPRC 2’s own Jennifer Broome, Houston of Houston Life emceed this year’s tea.

The tea chaired by the Patton Family honored Lauren Alexander.

Many know Lauren as one of the first female African American principal dancers with a major ballet company, our very own Houston ballet but today she was honored for her work with the ballet’s Education Community and Engagement program.

Only the second year for this holiday tea it’s quickly becoming a Houston holiday tradition.
